Kemigabo is a 50-year-old nurse from Uganda. She is a single mother of two daughters. The older daughter is in nursing school, and the younger is in sixth grade.
For two years, Kemigabo has been experiencing irregular, prolonged, and heavy bleeding. She has been diagnosed with uterine fibroids. She needs to undergo a hysterectomy, a procedure in which surgeons will remove her uterus.
Our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare Foundation, is requesting $268 to fund Kemigabo’s surgery. On November 14, she will undergo gynecological surgery at our medical partner’s care center. Once recovered, Kemigabo will be able to resume her daily activities free of pain.
Kemigabo says, “After surgery I will continue working as a nurse.”

She says, “I feel a big improvement since surgery…I am very happy and grateful because I believe my health is going to improve. After recovery, I will be able to continue with my house duties and resume working as a nurse after my sick leave. I pray for God’s blessings upon the nurses and the doctors of Virika Hospital and everyone who has paid for my surgery. I cannot thank you enough. God bless you.’’
